Partnerships Manager @ /Data

/Data is the leading research company in the developer economy: We help the world understand developers and developers understand the world. We survey 40,000+ developers annually - across mobile, IoT, desktop, cloud AR/VR and machine learning - to help clients such as Microsoft, Intel, Google and Amazon understand who developers are, what they buy and where they are going next.

We are looking for a Partnerships Manager to grow the /Data developer network through partnerships with developer communities. The role involves project management with both external partners and the internal operations team. The role has overall responsibility for bringing developers to our surveys and reports to the CEO.

What you’ll be doing
• Lead a team of three
• Systematically grow the /data developer network and outreach
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with large (tier-1 and tier-2) partners and developer communities, from local meet-ups to StackOverflow
• Listen to partners to understand their needs,
jobs-to-be-done, and craft improved value propositions
that will create value for their communities
• Identify new potential partners based on
variables such as regions, types of audience
reached, and type of acquisition channel
• Define  the value proposition and strategy for the /Data developer facing offering (DeveloperEconomics)
• Own the overall developer outreach strategy,
budget allocation and channel activation plan
(owned, paid, partners) to ensure the achievement
of developer participation KPIs in
our bi-annual developer survey
• Continually measure and improve the RoI from each partnership and developer outreach activities
• Project manage the external partner activities and the internal survey operations team

What we’re looking for
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent command of the English language
• 4-5 years experience in business development, account management, or partnerships
• A proven track record in building and maintaining strong B2B partner or sales relationships
• Resourceful; ability to come up with creative solutions
• Bachelor's degree or higher in any business or scientific field
• Comfortable working as part of a distributed team
• Able to work early evenings
(Europe) to speak to US customers
• Self-disciplined; having the willpower to systematically persist with emails and calls, being able to deal with client rejection, and being accountable for achieving own goals
• Empathic; able to understand what partners really need
• Growth mindset, with a desire to learn and continually improve
• Ability to prioritise, multitask, and manage time productively

You will be successful if within 6 months you have
• Increased our developer outreach results
by 5% in the next research wave
• Define proposition for DeveloperEconomics and design a lean-approach experiments to test it
• Established trust and rapport within your team
• Established the trust of the leadership team
